This small detached house is located very quietly in the town of Surville, on the west coast of Normandy. This part of Normandy is characterised by large sandy beaches (2,5 km) and picturesque fishing villages such as Portbail (at 8 km). From Carteret, located somewhat further down (at 20 km), you can take the ferry for a day tour to the British channel island of Jersey. In the surroundings, you also find countless monuments which commemorate the Allied landings of June 1944. At the church of St. Mère Eglise, a doll still hangs on a parachute to commemorate the American parachutist who hung there during the war. This story has become world-famous by the movie ‘The longest day’. 10 Km further down, Utah Beach is located where the Americans set foot ashore and a museum now reminds of the landings.
Around the house, a garden of more than 2,500 m² is located. A large part of the garden consists of a lawn where children can play. At your disposal are sufficient garden furniture and a barbecue.
