The city of Bergerac
This characteristic, recently renovated house is situated in the countryside at about 4 km from the centre of the tobacco and wine city of Bergerac. The house is built on a large domain of 6 ha with a pond where you can fish. Bergerac is the centre of Perigord Pourpre and until 1790 the capital of Perigord. The city is well known for its wines, especially the white wine of Chateau de Monbazillac. Besides Bergerac is the French capital of tobacco. In contrast to other French cities Bergerac doesn’t have an imposing church or castle. However Bergerac is absolutely worth a visit. It is an attractive city with flowers and nice shops situated in old buildings. Walking through the old streets is like walking in a museum without roof.

Activities in the surroundings
Bergerac is the perfect place to start discovering the charming surroundings a pleasant climate and its gastronomy (foie gras, bread). Besides there are many museum amongst which the Maison des Vins (House of Wines), situated in a building built in the 12th century with a view on the hills of Monbazillac where you can get explications about buying Bergerac wines. Furthermore the Musée du Tabac (tobacco museum), in the Maison of Peyrarède is worth a visit. Here you can find amongst others a garden with more than 1100 different tobacco plants. A very surprising text in the museum is the board with “Défense de fumer”, meaning forbidden to smoke.

Garden and swimming pool
The house is situated on a domain of 6 ha with a pond. The domain is composed of amongst others a large grass field, terrace with a great view on the pond and the valley. Furthermore you dispose of a fenced and secured private swimming pool (10x5m) and an exterior shower. There is a sufficient number of garden furniture, a barbecue and enough space for the children to play with amongst others a place with sand, slide, basketball net and tennis table.
